Anthony joined Rivage Investment in September 2023 as Infrastructure debt analyst.

Before joining Rivage, Anthony worked as an associate in the infrastructure advisory team of KPMG Corporate Finance in Paris. Anthony advised equity infrastructure funds in M&A transactions for wind and solar PV platforms in Europe. He was also involved in a wide range of deals such as hydroelectricity and green ammonia greenfield projects in Central and North Africa, and an airport concession renewal in France.
Anthony started his career within the Infrastructure team of CACIB before joining the Energy Transition team of Eiffel Investment Group, active in bridge financing for renewable projects.

Anthony graduated in Corporate Finance from EDHEC Business School.

Timothée Auffret

Timothée joined Rivage Investment in 2020 as an Analyst on infrastructure projects, mainly focused on portfolio management.

Timothée has 9 years of experience in financing at Societe Generale, including 5 as Portfolio Manager on infrastructure structured finance, as an Associate and then VP. He worked on Infrastructure, Energy (including Renewables) and Metals & Mining transactions, mostly EMEA-based.

He holds a degree from Sciences-Po Bordeaux (Masters in Finance)

Idir joined Rivage in 2018 as an analyst. He has almost 10 years of experience in public sector credit analysis, ALM analysis and sectorial analysis.

He started his career at Banque d’Algerie where he was responsible for analysis of the local banking sector. He then joined Natixis and Credit Foncier de France in functions such as credit risk analyst and ALM analyst. He was more recently a public sector credit analyst at SFIL before joining Rivage Investment.

Idir holds a Masters in Economics and a Masters Bank/Finance from the Université de Paris 1.

Ilias has joined Rivage Investment in the Investor Relations department to support the development and management of client portfolios in France and internationally, for his final internship in 2023 before his hiring in 2024.

He obtained a Master’s degree in Strategy from the School of Management at Erasmus University in Rotterdam and a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. During his internships, he gained experience in business development in the technology sector at PathMotion and in consulting at Alten Switzerland.

Hervé Besnard

Hervé founded Rivage Investment in 2010, and is the CEO of the company.

Prior to that, Hervé was Managing Director at BNP Paribas. He was in charge of the credit structuring department and head of the European teams. Hervé started his career in the BNP Paribas infrastructure project finance department. Hervé has over 25 years of experience in structured finance and capital markets.

He has an engineering degree from l’Ecole Centrale Paris.

Jason joined Rivage Investment at the end of 2022 as an Investment Director to participate in the launch of a Growth debt fund on the themes of climate solutions and decarbonization, with a pan-European deployment. He had spent the previous 8 years at Bpifrance Investissement first as an Associate and then as an Investment Director. He has spent over 10 years investing in innovative companies and projects.

Jason started his career as an analyst at CDC Climat investing in equity in digital start-ups that were helping to reduce CO2 emissions. He then joined Bpifrance in 2014 to participate in the launch and deployment of the French Tech Acceleration fund. In 2018, he joined the Bpifrance Green Venture fund team to invest in high-growth innovative companies in the field of climate technologies.

Jason is a graduate of EDHEC and holds a bachelor degree in applied mathematics from the University of Versailles.

Alizée joined Rivage Investment in 2024 as a Public Sector Analyst.

Alizée began her career with Deloitte in the Audit and Advisory team dedicated to the public sector, where she carried out audit assignments in connection with the experimentation of the certification of public accounts. She then moved to Sienna Private Credit, where she worked on financing public projects and infrastructure, also developing her skills relating to improving the quality of public services and reinforcing ESG standards in this sector.

She is a graduate of Sciences Po Strasbourg in Law and Administration, and also holds a Master’s degree in Public Management.

Marc joined Rivage Investment in September 2021 as an ESG analyst. He worked for 2 years as an insurance agent with expertise in wealth management. As part of his missions, he accompanied his clients through their understanding of ESG issues and their integration in savings vehicles.

He also volunteered to the Finance group of the “Shift Project”, as well as the writing of ESG analysis of corporate companies for the platform “Impaakt”.

Marc holds a MBA in Sustainable Finance from ESI, and a master’s degree in Business Development from IPAG Business School.

Violaine joined Rivage Investment in 2014. She has over 20 years of experience in capital markets, structured finance and credit structuring. She is currently in charge of Rivage’s structured finance and debt advisory business and also manages its public sector debt fund.

Violaine started her career in 1991 as a tax lawyer, working at Ernst & Young’s International Tax Services group in New York City. She then moved to capital markets in 1996 and has worked, first, as an interest rate derivatives structurer and, from 1998 as a credit structurer at Commerz Financial Products, IXIS CIB and Royal Bank of Scotland. In each of these positions, Violaine was responsible for originating, arranging and marketing structured credit transactions. Her product expertise includes credit derivatives, cash and synthetic securitisations (CDOs, CLOs), covered bonds, IR and FX derivatives, structured credit funds, securitization swaps, structured repos and asset repackagings using on-shore and off-shore SPVs.

Violaine is a graduate from HEC Paris and holds an LLM in International Tax Law from University of Paris XI School of Law and an MS in Taxation from Fordham University Graduate School of Business Administration (New York). Violaine was admitted to the Paris Bar in 1992.

Charlène joined Rivage in October 2021 as a legal and compliance officer.

Previously, she worked as a financial legal officer in the legal and tax department of a hedge fund specialized in the development of arbitrage strategies.

Charlène holds a Master’s degree in Banking and Financial Law from the Lyon III – Jean Moulin University (France) and an MBA in Compliance from Financia Business School (France).

Thibaut is a development engineer. He joined Rivage Investment in early 2015. His academic and professional background have enabled him to develop an expertise in programming techniques such as artificial intelligence, Big Data analysis and exploitation, and constrained optimization. He brings this multi-language technical expertise to the development of the proprietary Rivage Investment management platform.

Thibaut graduated from Ecole Polytech’Nice Sophia with a specialisation in computer science and mathematics applied to finance and insurance.

Mathieu joined Rivage Investment in 2018 as financial controller of the debt funds. He has over 10 years of experience in asset management.

Mathieu started his career within the audit department of KPMG, specialising in asset management. He then joined Generali Investments, the Generali group’s asset management company, as a compliance officer, in charge of implementing and monitoring the internal control plan.

Mathieu is a graduate of the Grenoble School of Management.

Pierre-Emmanuel joined Rivage in 2022 as an Investment Director.

He has 12 years of experience in the infrastructure & energy sector: he has previously worked at BNP Paribas within the energy, resources and infrastructure team in Paris where he was a director since 2020.
He was involved in a wide range of transactions, executing underwriting / lead arranging as well as advisory mandates for infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
He brings international experience, having spent 1 year in New York (focusing on Latin America) and 7 years in Singapore (focusing on Asia Pacific) before moving back to Paris in 2018.

Pierre-Emmanuel graduated from INSA Lyon engineering school, specializing in energy and sustainability, and holds a specialized master’s degree from ESSEC Business School.

Claire is in charge of administrative, legal, financial and control processes within Rivage Investment. She previously spent most of her career working at the AMF (“Autorité des Marchés Financiers”), but also as a legal auditor, and as an independent consultant for the creation and management of asset management companies.

She has significant experience in the organization of asset management firms including regulations and compliance, as well as a solid understanding of investment fund accounting. She worked for Deloitte then joined the AMF in 2001 where she was in charge of regulations for investment funds, portfolio management companies, and custodians. After that, from 2006 to 2012, she became a consultant for the major asset managers in Paris working on organization and regulation assignments as well as project implementation and internal control mandates.

She has the CIIA (Certified International Investment Analyst diploma) and the DSCG( advanced diploma in accounting and management). She’s a graduate from the French Society of Financial Analysts (SFAF), the law faculty of Lille 2 (France) and the ICN Business School in Nancy (France).

She has over 8 years of experience in credit risk and structured finance at Crédit Agricole CIB.

Anh-Thu holds a Master’s degree in Monetary and Banking Macroeconomics from the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas, a Master’s degree in Audit and Risk Management from the University of Paris V Descartes, and an International Certificate in Corporate Finance from HEC Paris.

Pauline joined Rivage Investment in September 2023 initially as an apprentice Junior ESG analyst. She has since been hired full-time and will continue to contribute to the company’s ESG efforts.

Pauline is in the final stages of completing a dual master’s degree in engineering from Arts et Métiers (ENSAM) and general management from IAE.

Takis joined Rivage investment in March 2024 as part of its Master Degree in Project and Structured Finance of the Paris Nanterre University. He started his career in 2015 as a civil and geotechnical engineer at Aéroports de Paris, Tractebel-Engie and Jean Lutz Sa where he completed his phd in geotechnics in collaboration with the University Gustave Eiffel. As a phd geotechnical engineer, he had a technical-commercial role in special foundations.

Takis graduated as a civil engineer (double degree) from École des Ponts ParisTech and National Technical University of Athens, and holds a master’s degree in infrastructure project finance.

John joined Rivage in 2016 as an analyst. He has over 9 years of experience in investments and advisory in both Paris and London.

John began his career within audit at PwC London, specialising in Investment Funds. He then joined Mercer Investments, where as an investment consultant he advised institutional investors on a range of investment matters, including: investment strategy, portfolio construction, liability management and manager selection.

John has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance and a Masters in Finance from the University of Glasgow, and a Masters in Project and Structured Finance from the Ecole des Ponts et Chaussées/ Paris Ouest University. He is also a CFA Charterholder.

Marzouck joined Rivage in 2020 as Financial Controller of debt funds after nearly five years at PwC Paris.

He began his career in the financial services audit department of PwC, specializing in asset and wealth management. He audited some of the major players in asset management in France. In particular, he has participated in the financial audit of private equity funds, banks and asset management companies. He also worked on the review of the internal control of custodians and fund administrators to issue the ISAE Certification for these banking functions.

Marzouck is a graduate of IGR-IAE Rennes, School of Management.

Maxime joined Rivage at the end of 2017 as an analyst. He had previously started his career in 2014 at HSBC as a project finance analyst before moving to BPI France as a financial analyst on Space, Telecom, Energy and Project Finance within the Export Insurance team. He was involved in analysis and risk assessment of export credit insurance applications for international project finance transactions.

Maxime graduated in Engineering at Ecole des Mines de Nancy and holds a Masters in Business from HEC Paris.

Sijia joined Rivage Investment in May 2024 as infrastructure debt analyst.

Before joining Rivage, Sijia was an investment analyst in the Energy Transition team at Mirova in Paris. Sijia has worked on acquisition and exit transactions for a range of projects across Europe, including wind, solar PV, hydroelectricity, as well as EV charging and e-fuels companies. She also contributed to asset management operations, such as the refinancing of 194 MW wind farms in Spain.
Before that, Sijia began her career within the Investment Division of Banque des territoires, Caisse Des dépôts, a key player in regional infrastructure investments.

Sijia is a graduate of Sciences Po Paris.

Onada joined Rivage in September 2020, at first in the Investor Relations role where she was actively involved in monitoring the content and evolution of the various investment opportunities.

She is now evolving into an analyst role in the impact Growth debt team, following her active contributions to the construction of the activity. Previously, she spent 6 years in the investment department of Allianz, in Munich and Paris, focusing on the analysis and implementation of fixed income credit strategies as well as the steering of insurance portfolios.

Onada holds a Masters in Finance from Bocconi University in Milan and is a CFA chartholder since 2018.

Alessandro is a managing director of Rivage Investment, overlooking their strategic growth initiatives.

Alessandro has over 20 years of experience in infrastructure finance. Until May 2023, Alessandro led UBS AM infrastructure debt business, raising and investing over EUR 2.0bn in more than 30 investments and across 14 jurisdictions. Before that, Alessandro worked at Moody’s, covering EMEA infrastructure clients, at Citigroup in the infrastructure M&A and debt teams and Intesa Sanpaolo.

Alessandro holds a Master in Economics from Toulouse School of Economics and a Degree in Economics from Università di Genova.

She has over 9 years of experience in asset management.
Suzanne started her career at Vatel Capital, an asset management company specialized in Private Equity, as a financial controller for 6 years. She then joined Axa Investment Managers as a Portfolio Controller for Structured Finance department where she was in charge to monitor CLOs and private debt and loan funds.

Suzanne has a master’s degree in finance of the University of Paris.

Veralda joined Rivage Investment in March 2023 as an Investor Relations to help raising assets under management in Europe and from Institutional clients. She will manage the Client Servicing team and coordinate calls for tenders.

Previously she spent 5 years as Investment Director of one of the largest French pension funds, La CIPAV, in charge of monitoring investments: € 7 bn equities, bonds, private equity, infrastructure, and unlisted debt on several funds. Structuring the investment portfolio, asset allocation and fund selection. Conducting calls for tenders for management mandates. Bringing innovation to the Pension fund and working for the progress of Responsible Investment and climate policy: analysis, elaboration and structuring of the policy. Veralda started her career as an assistant bond manager at UBS Asset Management in 2007 and then join Groupe Berri, a group of four French pension funds, in 2010 where she worked for 8 years as financial analyst managing € 6 bn.

Veralda holds a Masters in Finance from Ecole Nationale des Pont et Chaussées and Nanterre University.

Clément joined Rivage in July 2022 as an infrastructure project analyst.

Before joining Rivage, Clément worked as an investment analyst at EDF in Santiago, Chile. Covering projects in Chile, Peru and Colombia, he was accompanying the local development teams on the structuring and financing of greenfield energy generation projects developed by EDF in the region.

Patrick joined Rivage Investment in 2016 as the head of business development.

Patrick started his career as an interest rate swaps trader for BNP and Commerz Financial Products in Paris, Frankfurt and Prag. He moved then to a marketing position, in charge of sales of derivative products to East European corporates for Credit Lyonnais London. From 2000 until 2012, Patrick worked at Edmond de Rothschild Investment Managers as the Head of Business Development. He was responsible for the coverage of many European institutional investors and distributors on asset management products such as structured products, fixed income funds and hedge funds. He moved to Kepler Cheuvreux in 2013 where he intermediated illiquid assets. During this period he met Rivage Investment and started a fund raising activity during the first marketing campaign of a multi investors infrastructure debt fund by Rivage Investment.

Patrick graduated from Sciences Po Paris.

Pierre-Emmanuel joined Rivage Investment in 2018 as an analyst, after 4 years at Deloitte.

He started his career in 2014 in Paris, working for Deloitte where, as a consultant in Transaction Services, he took part in many Financial Due Diligence processes analysing the main valuation drivers of M&A operations over many different sectors. In 2016, he then joined up the Financial Modelling team to work on the financial models supporting project financing in the fields of Energy and Infrastructure.

Pierre-Emmanuel graduated from Ecole de Management de Lyon.

Nathan Romain has over 8 years of experience in the asset management industry. He started at AXA IM in London as an equity portfolio controller for 3 years. Then, he joined Rivage Investment in Paris in October 2017 as a financial controller where he quicly showed strong interests in ESG analysis and now split his time between financial control and ESG analysis.

Nathan graduated from Toulouse Business School. He has just obtained a certification in corporate carbon accounting and has validated the CESGA certification programme.

He has more than ten years of experience in banking institutions in back or middle office structured finance functions, mainly within the Crédit Agricole Group. Thibaut graduated in 2007 with a Master’s degree in Corporate Financial and Banking Engineering from the IUP Sciences Financières de Nancy (University of Lorraine), and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the IAE de Paris (University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne) which he obtained in 2012.

Thierry is in charge of the quantitative strategies for the front office teams, the R&D department (modeling and pricing models) and the information systems. He has over 14-years’ experience.

Thierry worked as a senior credit structurer at BNP Paribas in London from 2006 to 2010. He was in charge of the design and the follow-up of clients’ investments for a wide range of structured products, as well as algorithmic strategies. Prior to that, Thierry worked in a hedge fund specialized in statistical arbitrage (2004).

Thierry holds a Master’s degree in Financial Mathematics from the Jussieu University (Paris VII) and a Master’s degree in civil engineering from l’Ecole des Mines de Nancy (France).

Arnaud Serougne

Arnaud joined Rivage Investment in 2014 and is in charge of the origination and debt project management for our clients investments.

Arnaud has 20-years’ experience in capital markets and structured debt. He started his career in 1990 at the Compagnie Bancaire, the specialised financial services control holding group of Paribas. He was responsible for the finance and ALM activites until 1997. Then, he joined the Crédit Lyonnais as a senior originator, and was responsible for the bond syndication afterwards.

From 2001, Arnaud worked at WestLB AG in London as a senior originator for France and Southern Europe debt issuers. He worked in structured finance at WestLB Paris from 2006 to 2009 where he was responsible for the infrastructure sector, financial acquisition transactions and LBOs. From 2010 to mid 2014, Arnaud was senior originator in the infrastructure debt team of WestLB London where he refinanced Eiffarie and the A150 highway, then managed the “distressed debt” portfolio, where he actively contributed to the financial restructurings of several LBOs and France and Southern Europe projects.

Arnaud is a graduate from Centrale Paris and has an International Finance Master from HEC.

Florent joined Rivage Investment in 2020 as a quantitative developer.

Before joining Rivage, he worked as a consultant in corporate and investment banking for 6 years. He worked in the Front Office at BNP Paribas on the position management application for trading and in quantitative research on swap, dividend, ETF and repo management platforms. He brings this quantitative and technical expertise to the development of the Rivage Investment proprietary portfolio management platform.

Florent graduated from ENSEA engineering school with a specialization in signal processing and a Master’s degree in quantitative finance from EM Lyon.

Eric Thamin joined Rivage Investment in 2021 to launch a Growth debt initiative targeting Climate and decarbonization solutions in Europe.

He has 25 years of experience in Corporate Development, Corporate M&A and Strategy and investment advisory. Over the 1997 – 2016 period, he worked at Veolia (utilities), Asterop (software & data), then Tages (M&A advisory) then SIG plc (Building Materials) in various corporate development roles. From 2016 to 2019 he was Group Strategy and M&A Director at Quadient SA (SBF 120 company, hardware and software, 1.1 B€ turnover, 50% of which in North America). His sectorial expertise covers notably Software and Hardware, Construction and Building Materials, Utilities and Waste management. In terms of M&A track record he has completed more than 30 deals, in Europe and North America, investing more than 500 M€ overall, with a high diversity in terms of counterparts (entrepreneurs, start-ups, family owned businesses, Private Equity and VC, Corporates, JVs). He has also realized several divestments. He has extensive experience in the innovation, growth companies and VC ecosystem (notably via Asterop’ Series A done with Accenture Technology Ventures as lead investor, and while at Quadient being an LP within two leading VC Funds in Europe).

Gaétane joined Rivage at the end of 2017 as an investment director. She had spent the 10 previous years as a Director at KPMG within the global infrastructure and Project group where she provided advisory to construction firms and infrastructure funds for their financial closings. The projects analyzed were PPPs and concessions in France and Africa.

Gaétane started her career in 2000 as an infrastructure specialist at French Ministry of Public Works and Transportation before joining the World Bank in 2003 where she advised the governments of Hungary, Russia and Georgia on infrastructure projects and developed financial models to assess the credit worthiness of infrastructure projects in various countries of Eastern Europe and Asia.

Gaétane holds a Masters in corporate finance from Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, a Masters in Management from New York University and a Masters in Civil and Transport Engineering from ENTPE Lyon.

Alexandre joined the company in 2021 as ESG manager of Rivage Investment.

He has over 7 years of experience in ESG and CSR issues, which he implemented first with the “Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations”, and later as a consultant, working with a dozen institutional investors. His expertise focuses on climate risk management and ESG data integration in investment policies. Alexandre is a certified sustainable development manager (AFNOR certification), ESG analyst (CESGA) and Carbon Footprint analyst (Association Bilan Carbone).

He also holds a master’s degree in Business Law from Sciences Po Paris.

Patrick joined Rivage Investment in 2015 as financial controller. He has over 6 years of experience in asset management.

Patrick started his career with Deloitte in the audit department, specialising in asset management. He then joined the Tikehau group as a corporate financial controller, in charge of the financial and administrative monitoring of the group’s asset management company as well as a portfolio of proprietary investments.

Julien joined Rivage Investment in December 2017 as Head of Compliance, Internal Control and Risk.

He has more than 17 years of experience in asset management industry and risk & compliance areas. He began his career in a consulting firm where he worked on new regulations implementation (MiFID in particular), process analysis and risk assessment projects for asset managers, banks and insurers based in France, the UK or in Morocco. He then joined Natixis Investment Managers, first as a risk specialist, where he advised the group’s European and Asian affiliates (25+ entities specialized in all asset classes including infrastructure and real estate) in their implementation of risk management systems and related projects, then as manager of the team in charge of the group’s operational risk Value-at-Risk calculation (35+ entities worldwide).

Julien graduated from NEOMA Business School.
